RMU has kept busy during the past week as they have responded to 9 water main breaks in Rochelle.
Adam Lanning, Superintendent of Water and Water Reclamation, said that the water main problems are not centered around 1 area but in the entire community.
7 of the water main breaks have been repaired while 2 have been isolated. Lanning hopes to have the entire system working by the end of the week or first part of next week.
He believes the problem was caused by recent repairs on the water pumps for the water towers near the overpass and by RTHS.
Lanning said there have been some pressure spikes in the system that could have caused the water main breaks. He said that the setting on their computers also needs to be corrected.
The project also includes street and landscape work in the future once the water mains are repaired.
