The largest road construction project in Chicago in generations will mean traffic headaches this weekend and next. The Congress Parkway will be completely closed and traffic on the Kennedy and Dan Ryan expressways will be down to one lane to allow cranes to move large steel beams into place for a new flyover ramp from the Ryan to the outbound Eisenhower.
The nightmare will be repeated on a weekend at the end of September and another in mid-October, when the other new ramps on the Jane Byrne Interchange are put in place.
