The state's unemployment rate continues to fall, dropping one-tenth of a point to five-point-eight-percent in July, the lowest rate since 2008. The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports the state added a net 19-hundred jobs last month though the pace was slower than the nation as a whole.
The government, construction and leisure sectors each added more jobs than they lost last month.
