Illinois is not taking part in a "sales tax holiday" for back-to-school shopping this year. While other states in the Midwest, including Missouri, have a break this time of year, Illinois' last summer sales tax holiday was in 2010, and it hasn't happened here since. It's up to the General Assembly to implement the holidays.
