Passengers aboard a United Airlines flight to Florida are resting a little easier after their plane struck birds on takeoff Friday morning. A TV reporter from southwest Florida was on the plane as it took off from O'Hare International Airport and hit the birds at the end of the runway.
Andrew Scheinthal said the pilot informed passengers about ten to 15 minutes into the flight the plane was returning to O'Hare because of problems after hitting the birds. It safely returned, was cleaned and took off again for Fort Myers, Florida.
