The quiet zone project, a solar farm for the landfill, along with the purchase of a street sweeper tops the agenda Monday night for city officials in Rochelle.
The council meeting begins at 7 at City Hall.
An engineering agreement is expected to be approved by city officials for the 10 railroad crossings dealing with the train horn issue. The fee will not exceed $75,000 for the quiet zone work.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended to the council that a special use permit should be given for the possibility of a solar farm at the landfill. It would be located by the birm along Creston Road.
3 companies have shown interests in the project. The 1st solar farm in Rochelle is located near the water and wastewater treatment plant.
The net purchase price for the street sweeper is just under $175, 500.
Monday's Rochelle City Council meeting is open to the public.
