Rockford man appears in court following high speed vehicle chase

An Ogle County judge set bond at $100,000 yesterday for a Rockford man following a high speed vehicle chase that came to an end in Oregon Tuesday night.

25-year old Aaron Watson was arrested on the charge of aggravated fleeing to elude police along with resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. He was also wanted on 2 Rockford warrants.

A 15-year old boy from Rockford was also arrested by sheriff's police after both ran from the car they were driving.

Police are investigating the connection between Watson and the teen involving an armed robbery that took place at a Walmart store in Clinton, Iowa along with an attempted armed robbery at a gas station in Savanna and a retail theft incident at a Walmart store in Freeport.

No one suffered any injuries during the high speed vehicle chase Tuesday night. It came to an end at Route 64 and Daysville Road in Oregon.

Watson remains in jail in lieu of bond and returns to court for a hearing on Friday.

The 15-year old boy also remains in custody at a juvenile facility.
