A giant flower, formed in the skies of Ottawa by one-hundred-64 skydivers Friday, is the new world record holder for largest vertical formation. The specially selected team of skydivers took off in seven planes that flew in a pattern at nearly 20-thousand feet as the divers jumped and soared head-down into place for the formation.
They held the flower-shaped connection for several seconds as video cameras recorded the feat for posterity, then deployed their parachutes and floated to earth.
The previous record involving one-hundred-38 skydivers was set in 2012
