No one suffered any injuries Tuesday afternoon following a 1-story house fire in Rochelle.
The smoke was noticed coming from the porch area at around 12:30 at 205 North 11th Street by a neighbor.
Rochelle Fire Chief Brian Johnson said that the fire was contained to the porch. There was very little smoke inside the home.
2 adults and a child who live at the residence were not at home when the flames began. Firemen were able to save the family dog who was in a cage.
Johnson said that the cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time. They know the area were it started.
There was some clothing in the porch around the area the flames began. Cost damage to the home was estimated to be around $5,000.
