Illinois is seeing more visitors and the state says that's helping the economy. In 2014, there were more than 109-million visitors, a three-point-five-percent increase from the year before.
Those tourists and business travelers generated two-point-seven-billion-dollars in sales taxes and were responsible for 306-thousand tourism-related jobs. The state's new tourism push will tout Illinois inventors and tourists and the state is launching a new Illinois travel magazine.
