Survey teams from the National Weather Service are in the small town of Cameron , examining the damage done when a tornado roared through Thursday evening. Illinois State Police say the property damage was extensive, including shattered windows, downed power lines and gas leaks, but none of the town's roughly 600 residents was seriously injured.
Thousands of homes in the surrounding area remain without power and a temporary shelter has been set up at United High School, near Monmouth.
