Fatal crash investigation continues for Ogle County officials

Ogle County officials are still waiting for results from a toxicology report at the Illinois State crime lab to determine if any charges will be filed in the death of a Kings teen.

19-year old Anna Speed, a 2014 graduate of Rochelle Township High school and who had just finished her 1st year at the University of Northern Iowa, suffered fatal injuries in a single vehicle crash.

The accident took place in the 18,000 block of East Gillis Road, northeast of Creston, the night of June 10th. A 2004 Jeep driven by 19-year old Emily Jahnke of Rochelle was traveling eastbound and left the north side of the road. The jeep then struck a utility pole.

Jahnke and a front passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Anna Craven of Rochelle, were ejected from the jeep. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries at area hospitals.

Speed was pronounced dead at the scene as she was a back passenger in the jeep.

Ogle County State's Attorney Eric Morrow said that they hope to have the results from the crime lab report in the near future.
