The Illinois Senate has approved the one-month state budget plan that's already passed the House. The budget covers essential services and also includes money for another round of worker paychecks later this month. Governor Rauner says he'll veto the measure.
The Senate has also voted to override Rauner's vetoes on five 12-month budget bills covering vital state services including the state police and the state health department. The House now has 15 days to find the votes to override those vetoes.
