For the 2nd time in just over a month, a request by Hillcrest Village Board President Steve Dodson to change attorneys has been rejected.
Dodson introduced the proposal last night to have Doug Henry of Rockford as the new attorney for the village. He would replace Paul Keller. The vote on June 4th was 2-2 with 1 trustee who abstained his vote.
Last night, the vote was 4-2. Voting in favor of Henry were Trustees Tim Ball and Jason Fore. Keller has been the village attorney in Hillcrest for the past 4 years.
Village officials will meet in special session on July 29th at 7 as they plan to hold a workshop to talk about the budget. No final numbers will be approved that evening.
The annual clean-up day for the village will take place on Saturday. A vet will be at the village hall building to handle dog and cat cases.
