Village officials in Creston approved the appropriation last night dealing with the financial picture for the next fiscal year. There was a small increase in the figure from a year ago.
Village President Tom Byro said they are holding their own and will spend money on the most needed projects including work on the streets.
The board approved a bid last night of $30,000 for the patch work on the streets.
Village officials are also concerned about people in Creston driving a golf cart without a license along with teens under the age of 18 using the golf carts and gators. Byro said that they have talked with the Ogle County Sheriff's department about the problem and changes are expected in the future.
The cost for a yearly golf cart license is $35 in Creston.
The board also talked about the duties and the office hours involving the Clerk's position. No action was taken.
