Ogle County Sheriff's Police continue to look for a male driver of a car following a high speed chase which resulted in a crash in Hillcrest early Sunday morning.
The vehicle chase took place on Illinois 251 a short time before 3:30. Reports indicate that the driver of the car failed to stop at the intersection with Route 64 traveling at a high rate of speed.
The suspect eventually crashed the car he was driving in Hillcrest near the fire station. The vehicle crossed the north bound lane of traffic and rolled several time before coming to a stop in a corn field.
The driver then fled the scene on foot into the field.
The Rochelle K-9 Unit was called to the scene for assistance in tracking down the suspect. It's unknown at this time if he suffered any injuries in the accident.
The owner of the car is from Rockford. The vehicle was stolen from the individual.
