The state of Illinois has room for 21 more years worth of trash. The Illinois EPA's annual landfill report shows the state has 39 active landfills that took in more than 44-million cubic yards of waste last year. The capacity of those landfills means that at 2014 disposal rates, the state won't run out of landfill space for another two decades.
Ogle County currently has 2 landfills located in Rochelle and Davis Junction.
