A Franklin Grove man remains hospitalized after the SUV he was driving crashed into a FedEx truck Monday morning in rural Ashton.
32-year old Robert Williams is listed in serious condition at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He had been listed in critical condition since the accident.
Reports indicate that the crash took place in front of Crest Foods under foggy conditions Monday morning. The Fed Ex truck was leaving the facility when the collision occurred on Route 38. Williams was traveling westbound when his SUV struck the side of the truck.
The driver and passenger in the FedEx truck were not injured.
The accident remains under investigation by Lee County Sheriff's Police.
