Illinois residents affected by Monday's tornadoes are being warned about possible home repair scams. Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced this week that people should be on the lookout for con artists looking to exploit home and businesses owners needing repairs for storm-related damage. Local owners are encouraged to call Madigan's Consumer Fraud Hotline to report any suspicious activity.
The tornado did damage to the Woodhaven Lakes campground in Sublette. The campground has 6,144 lots and around 300 were occupied when the high winds hit. Numerous campers were damaged along with trees on the ground.
Officials say that about a quarter of Woodhaven Lakes suffered damage from the tornado.
2 tornadoes also touched down in Harmon near Amboy.
