During last night's Rochelle City Council meeting, Engineer Sam Tesreau talked about the sidewalk program for this summer.
The sidewalk and curb and gutter work will be done on School and Irene Avenues along with Caron Road.
Tesreau said that the work will begin the 2nd week of July.
The council approved roof work at the Business and Technology Center at a cost of just under $172,000 along with a control system for 3 RMU generators with a price tag of $388,000.
Reappointments last night included:
**Planning and Zoning Commission: Dr. Joe Thiele, Diane McNeilly, Pal Colwill and
Bob Johns
**Police and Fire Commission: Mitch Montgomery
**Stormwater Advisory Commission: Jim May and Wayne Page
**Trucking Advisory Committee: Joel Thompson
City officials also heard a presentation from the League of United Latin American Citizens from Rochelle. The group recently formed and has 15 members.
They would like to work with city officials on several projects in the future. The first would be an emergency event scheduled for August 30th at Lincoln School for the hispanic community.
