The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting, construction work will begin on Route 72, west of Davis Junction, on Monday. Repairs will be made over the bridge for the Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern Railroad.
Traffic still be restricted to one lane across the railroad overpass and controlled by temporary traffic signals. Motorists should be prepared to stop in the area.
The $377,000 project should be completed by early September. The work includes concrete deck repairs, replacing expansion joints, and a new wearing surface on the structure.
