No one suffered any injuries yesterday afternoon when a 5-car Canadian Pacific freight train derailed in Davis Junction. 4 of the cars went off the track near the intersection of 11th Street and Edson Road.
Reports indicate that the train was traveling north at a low speed on Illinois Railway tracks north of Davis Junction. 1 of the cars that derailed was carrying a non-hazardous petroleum-based lubricant.
Canadian Pacific Railroad officials believe that nothing was spilled from the car.
The cause of the derailment has yet to be determined at this time.
