A Rockford man convicted of murdering a high school friend in the summer of 2014 has received his second life in prison sentence. A judge sentenced Terence Doddy Tuesday after pleading guilty to beating Todd Hansmeier to death in June 2014. The defendant refused to be in the courtroom to hear his sentence because he didn't want to face the victim's family.
Doddy also was sentenced to life in prison on June 1st for the murder of Tonya Bargman of Monticello, Illinois. Prosecutors say the defendant killed the woman while he was on the run after killing Hansmeier and taking his car. Apparently that vehicle stopped running and Doddy ambushed and killed Bargman at a rest stop near Paw Paw and then took her car.
