Flooding remains a problem in the area due to recent rains

State and area officials are urging Illinois residents to stay safe around flood waters with more rain expected to fall this week. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is preparing for potential river flooding and IDOT is ready to respond if necessary. Motorists should be alert for standing water on the roads and boaters are asked to stay off the water when river levels rise.
Standing water remains in many areas in Rochelle today following 3 to 5 inches of rain on Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the Rock River in Ogle
County until tomorrow afternoon. The Rock River will rise to 11.1 feet.
Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle is implementing the NO WAKE ordinance.
In addition to flooding, debris hazards such as floating and submerged logs
exist.
Care should be taken when operating during this time. No person shall operate a
motorboat at a speed exceeding 5 miles per hour while traveling in a NO WAKE area.
It is anticipated the NO WAKE restriction will be lifted tomorrow.
