Officials at Rochelle Community Hospital held a ground breaking ceremony today for their 8 million dollar 2-story medical office building.
The facility will be located south of RCH and will be 26,000 square feet.
Hospital CEO Mark Batty said that they have been waiting for this day for several months. Construction will begin on Monday and should be completed by late January or early February of next year.
Once the building is completed, Batty said that renovation work will be done in 3 areas of the hospital. The include the business offices, the family healthcare clinic, and the fitness center which will located in the new building
That project should be completed by the summer of 2016.
The 1st floor of the new building will house the cardiac rehabilitation department, fitness center, and the multi-specialy center. The 2nd floor will combine the current medical staff offices of Rochelle Medical Group and the Family Healthcare Center with additional room for future growth.
Batty said that the community should be proud that Rochelle Community Hospital is moving forward with their facilities.
RCH currently around 250 employees.
