Storms cause problems for area residents yesterday

Heavy rains on Monday caused problems for area residents with standing water on roadways along with wet basements in homes.
Between 3 to 5 inches of rain fell in the area yesterday from the storms.


Many barricades were put up by the Rochelle Street Department due to standing water on pavements. There are currently no streets that are closed in the Hub City today.


There were reports of standing water on many rural roadways yesterday afternoon and evening in the area due to the rain. In Ogle County, the areas included Route 38, east of I-39, Flagg and Queens Roads, and Gillis Road, East of Mulford Road.


There were no reports of any serious injuries from vehicle crashes from the storms yesterday.
There were also a number of reports of water in basements in homes in Rochelle along with the area.
