The exact cause of a house fire which took place early yesterday morning in Rochelle remains unknown at this time.
The blaze took place a short time after 4:15 at 309 2nd Avenue, just east of Main Street near the downtown area.
The flames were contained to the 1st floor of the home with smoke damage throughout the residence. Cost damage is estimated to be around $100,000.
The flames may have started in a bathroom near the back of the home.
The State Fire Marshall's office is assisting in the investigation. No one suffered any injuries from the fire yesterday.
