Oregon teen remains in critical condition following accident

A 19-year old Oregon teen remains in critical condition at a Rockford hospital following a single vehicle crash last Sunday morning in Ogle County.

19-year old Michael Stevens is hospitalized following an accident that took place in the 3,000 block of South Watertown Road in rural Oregon.

Reports indicate that Stevens' pick-up truck was traveling northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck traveled off the pavement into a ditch and then struck several trees and a creek embankment.
The vehicle came to a stop in a corn field along South Watertown Road.

Stevens was flown from the scene by helicopter to the Rockford hospital for treatment of his injuries. The crash remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
