1 Rochelle teen is dead while 2 others were injured following a single vehicle crash northeast of Creston last night.
Pronounced dead at the scene by the Ogle County Coroner was 19-year old Anna Speed.
The crash took place a short time after 8:30 in the 18,000 block of East Gillis Road. A 2004 Jeep drive by 19-year old Emily Jahnke of Rochelle was traveling eastbound and left the north side of the road. The jeep then struck a RMU utility pole.
Jahnke along with a front passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Anna Craven of Rochelle, were ejected from the jeep. Speed was a back passenger in the vehicle.
Both Jahnke and Craven were taken by ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatement of their injuries. Jahnke was later transported to a Rockford hospital with a leg injury and is in stable condition. Craven was released from the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
