Officials at Rochelle Township High School are pleased following the 1st year of the drug testing program for students.
Random tests were done throughout the school year for students in sports along with other extracurricular activities.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", RTHS Superintendent Jamie Craven said that the program worked well. He said that they had less than 10 students test positive with a substance in their system.
The district tested around 12 students per week. Anyone who tested positive would be involved in a program with Sinnissippi Centers.
Craven said that they plan to do the testing again for the next school year.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
Next week's guest will be Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson.
