Rockford man sentenced to life in prison following Lee County murder

A Rockford man will be spending the rest of his natural life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of a woman at a Interstate 39 rest stop near Paw Paw last summer.

Terence Doddy was sentenced yesterday in Lee County Court. Authorities say the 37-year-old admitted to killing Monticello native Tonya Bargman. The victim was found dead in a rest stop bathroom near Paw Paw last July. Doddy also pleaded guilty to murdering Todd Hansmeier. He set to be sentenced in that case later this month.

Doddy was not in the courtroom in Dixon yesterday during the sentencing hearing.
