Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert is being accused of paying more than 3 million dollars in hush money to conceal past sexual misconduct. Reports indicate that unnamed law enforcement sources as saying the federal charges in Chicago go back to before Hastert served in Congress. One official described the payments as an attempt to conceal "sexual abuse" of a male during his time as a high school wrestling coach. The former Illinois congressman was indicted on charges related to his alleged effort to hide three-and-a-half million dollars in payments to cover up the past misconduct.
Hastert was a teacher and coach at Yorkville High School prior to his political career. He is scheduled to appear in federal court on the indictment next week.
