Bond set at $100,000 for a Chadwick man following police chase on Sunday

A LaSalle County judge set bond at $100,000 Monday for a Chadwick man following a car chase with police that started in Freeport and came to an end on I-39 near Mendota Sunday morning.

29-year old Alec Pulley has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated fleeing to elude police.
Additional charges are pending in the case.

Police say that Pulley pointed what they thought was a handgun at them twice during the chase. A police officer from Freeport fired his gun several times at the car Pulley was driving. That officer has been placed on paid administrative leave.

The weapon found in the car was an air pistol.

Speeds reached up to 100 miles per hour on U.S. 20 and I-39 during the chase. Newstalk 1060 saw the incident about 10 miles north of Rochelle on I-39 as at least a dozen police vehicles were trying to stop Pulley's car. He finally crashed in the median on I-39 near Mendota.

No police officers were hurt from the chase. Pulley received treatment for minor injuries at Mendota Community Hospital.

He was also wanted on a Stepehson County warrant for the felony offense of theft. Bond was set at $25,000.
