A Rochelle man will do some time in jail after he plead guilty Friday involving a child abuse case.
27-year old Christopher Texas was charged with the Class 3 felony offense of aggravated battery to a child.
The victim in the case was a girl who suffered bruises on her body and had a black eye last Jnauary. A co-defendant in the case was the child's mother, 23-year old Holley Peerboom of Rochelle. She has been charged with the misdemeanor offense of endangering the health of a child.
The girl was not related to Texas.
In court yesterday, he was sentenced to 150 days in jail along with 2 1/2 years probation. Texas must also pay fees and fines that total $1,050. He must also submit to DNA testing and random drug tests
The 2nd charge of aggravated battery to a child against Texas was dismissed by Ogle County officials following the guilty plea.
