The push to reduce the punishment for low-level marijuana offenses is getting closer to becoming a reality. A state Senate committee approved the bill on Wednesday that would require individuals caught possessing up to 15-grams of the drug to be issued a ticket rather than be sent to jail. The House already approved the measure last week. It must still pass the full Senate and be signed into law by the Governor.
