Construction is scheduled to begin this summer for the new addition involving Rochelle Community Hospital.
Several homes were demolished south of the hospital recently for the project. Rochelle Community Hospital CEO Mark Batty said that the medical office building will be 2 stories. They plan to consolidate their 2 clinics in the building.
Batty said they hope to be in the new facility by the 1st part of 2016.
Renovation work will then begin in the current hospital building.
No deadline has been set on when this project will be completed.
Batty was a guest yesterday on the program "Let The People Know". The show is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
