Sales are up for Walgreens, but the drugstore chain is planning to close down 200 stores nationwide. The closings and some reorganization within the Deerfield corporate headquarters are part of a billion-dollar cost-cutting plan that was announced last summer. Today's announcement also indicated Walgreens brought in more than 26-and-a-half-billion dollars in revenue, which was up, but still fell short of analysts' projections.
Walgreens does have a store in Rochelle. The company has yet to announce which stores will be closed in the future.
