Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson has been voted to a 4th term in office while there are new top officials in Oregon and the Village of Hillcrest along with ambulance service for residents in Oregon.
Those are the top results from the Consolidated Election yesterday as only 18 percent of registered voters in Ogle County went to the polls. The number was 20 percent in Lee County.
Olson defeated Aaron Brooks 75 percent to 25 percent to remain as Mayor in Rochelle for another 4 years. He told Newstalk 1060 that he was grateful to all of the local residents.
There will be some changes for the Rochelle City Council. Former Fire Chief Tom McDermott received the most votes with 894. He was followed by incumbent Bil Hayes with 757 and Don Burke with 621. Finishing in 4th place and not re-elected at this time is Ed Rice with 619 votes or 2 behind Burke.
Ogle County Clerk Becky Huntley said that the numbers are final as there are no absentee ballots still out with voters in Flagg Township that may in the mail.

The Oregon Fire Protection District special ambulance service tax was approved 1,251 to 173. The Stillman Valley electrical aggregation issue also passed with 58 yes votes to 56 no votes.
