A Dixon man has received a sentence of 20 years in prison after he strangled his wife in January of 2013.
36-year old Brian Sigler pled guilty to the felony offense of 1st degree murder in the death of his wife Yolanda.
The altercation took place at Sigler's home as the couple's 10-year old son made a 911 call. Yolanda Sigler's body was found under a blanket in the living room.
Police found Brian Sigler upstairs as he was bleeding from self-inflicted stab wounds. Authorities say that the fight began between the couple when Sigler found sexual text messages on his wife's cellphone.
The 20 year sentence in prison was the minimal for the 1st degree murder offense.
