Bond set for Rochelle woman following confrontation with local police

An Ogle County judge set bond at $7,500 for a Rochelle woman following an altercation with local police on Friday morning.

The incident began in the 500 block of South 2nd Street. Police were responding to a domestic altercation as 37-year old Cristina Pelayo had allegedly scratched and hit in the face the male subject.

She then got into a confrontation with officers at the scene as Pelayo allegedly struck 1 of them and damaged his glasses.

No one suffered any serious injuries from the incident. Pelayo was charged with aggravated battery, resisting arrest, along with domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

She has posted 10 percent of the $7,500 bond and was released from the Ogle County jail. Pelayo will return to court on March 13th for a hearing.
