Winnebago County is giving the nod to a new 41-million-dollar jet repair hub at Chicago Rockford International Airport. The County Board approved eight-million-dollars in funding towards the project. Rockford city officials already agreed to five-million-dollars of their own money earlier this week. The rest of the funding is expected to come from the state and federal government and the airport board. If completed, the hub could bring in around 500 jobs.
