Ogle County Sheriff's Police arrested a Washington state truck driver drunk yesterday morning after he crashed the semi he was driving on I-39.
The accident took place a short time before 4:30 just south of McNeal Road.
43-year old Aleksandr Melnichuk was traveling northbound on I-39 in his semi-tractor trailer truck when the vehicle left the highway and rolled over in the ditch.
Melnichuk refused medical treatment at the scene. He was arrested on the charge of DUI along with improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Melnichuk was transported to the Ogle County jail on the charges following the arrest.
