The Illinois Supreme Court has announced that justices will hear oral arguments in the pension overhaul case on March 11th. Lawmakers and former Governor Pat Quinn approved the plan in 2013 as a way to cut the one-hundred-eleven-billion-dollar deficit in the state's four pension programs. State workers unions, retiree groups and others filed suit, claiming that the reform plan violates the state constitution by cutting or slowing benefits of existing retirees.
