A 2nd arrest has been made in a child abuse case in Rochelle.
Local police have arrested 23-year old Holley Peerboom of Rochelle on the Class 3 felony offense of aggravated battery and the misdemeanor charge of endangerment of the life or health of a child.
The 1st arrest took place earlier this week which involved 27-year old Chris Texas of Rochelle. He has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated battery to a child along with domestic battery.
Texas was back in court Friday for an arraignment as bond remains at $500,000. A public defender was appointed as he returns to Ogle County court next Friday for a hearing.
Texas remains in jail in lieu of bond.
Peerboom was transported to the Ogle County jail last night with no bond set on the felony offense. She will appear before a judge sometime this weekend in Oregon when that figure will be established.
The victim in the case was a girl who suffered bruises to her body and had a black eye. The girl was not related to Texas. It was Peerboom's daughter
The investigation continues by local police. The Department of Children and Family Services is also involved in the case.
