The Board of Trustees at Kishwaukee Community College in Malta will meet in special session next Wednesday evening at 5 to talk about the new contract with the Education Association.
They plan to approve the collective bargaining agreement with the union.
A tentative agreement was reached last Monday between bargaining teams that prevented a teacher's strike at the college on Wednesday.
The union plans to hold its contract ratification vote starting next Tuesday over a 24 hour period per their bylaws.
Terms of the new contract will not be made public until the deal is ratified between the union and the college.
Money and benefits were key issues in the negotiations that began last March. The Kishwaukee College Education Association has 81 full-time employees.
