Progress continues to be made on the Ogle County Public Safety Complex located in Oregon.
Work is being done inside the building at the present time. Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said they should be in the facility by the middle of March
Once the complex is open, the current administration building will be torn down for parking.
County board member Dick Petriizzo of Davis Junction has resigned due to personal reasons. He represents District 1 in the county. Applications for his position will be accepted until February 2nd. An interview process will then take place before a person is appointed. The individual must be Republican.
Work on Flagg and Center Roads in Flagg Center will take place later this year. County Engineer Curtis Cook said that the 1.1 million dollar project will begin in the middle of April and be done by October 1st.
He said Flagg Road will be closed for a 2 week period for work on the 2 railroad crossings.
The board heard a presentation on the 20-year Ogle County Solid Waste Management Plan. The landfill capacity for Orchard Hills in Davis Junction is 14 years while the landfill in Rochelle is good for 24 years.
The solid waste per person, per day in Ogle County is just over 5 pounds.
Appointments last night included Catherine VanStedum and Scott DuBay to the Board of Health along with Rodney Hayenga to the Lynn-Scott White Rock Fire Protection District board.
