Area departments responded to a fire Monday morning at the Illinois River Energy plant at 1900 Steward Road in rural Rochelle. The facility produces ethanol fuel.
Emergency personnel received word of the flames a short time before 10:30 in the grain room. The problem involved corn being burnt.
There were no reports of any injuries from any of the workers at the plant or firemen
The cause of the fire was electrical in nature. There was minor cost damage to some equipment at the facility.
Emergency crews were on the scene for just over an hour.
