RTHS board meeting

Officials at Rochelle Township High School are looking at upgrading their 2 facilities where they keep the buses and also have them worked on.

1 building is made of steel while the other is wood. Superintendent Jamie Craven said that the project will be done later this year. He said it is unknown if they will demolish the 2 buildings or renovate them.

The exact price for the work has yet to be estalbished.

The board approved a bid of $79,600 for a software package involving the district. The annual fee will be just over $17,800.

School officials were also informed that the state now mandates student performance data in the teacher evaluation process.

The board approved a resolution for a 20/20 vision proposal that will go to lawmakers in Springfield. Craven said that school districts in the state want a better working relationship with state officials dealing with future mandates.

School officials met in executive session to talk about personnel, pending litigation, and collective bargaining. No action was taken following a half hour behind closed doors.
