Failing to report child abuse allegations would cost youth homes their state licenses under a bill proposed by Deerfield state senator Julie Morrison. The bill follows reports detailed in the "Chicago Tribune" of hundreds of cases of physical and sexual abuse and hundreds of runaways at homes for troubled or displaced young people. The acting head of the Department of Children and Family Services is leaving as of next week and Governor Bruce Rauner is expected to name a replacement soon.
