Governor-elect Bruce Rauner says he plans to issue a number of executive orders "right away" when he takes office, focusing on ethics, efficiency and cost-cutting. Rauner is on a two-day tour of the state, with plans to visit nine of the state's smaller towns prior to his Monday inauguration in Springfield. Rauner also said that he wants to rise above political bickering and so he will not go to court to overturn a bill passed Thursday to hold a special election for comptroller in 2016.
Rauner made a stop in Byron Friday at a restaurant to thank area residents for their support.
